Momentum research platform · Private beta
Risk 1R.
Find the 5R.
Asymmetry scans the market every evening, grades each setup from A+ to F against market breadth, sector strength and the stock's own volatility, then tracks what every signal did next. It's built for momentum traders who size by risk and want proof before they trust a grade.
Access is by application, for traders with live experience across several setup types.
Why the name
You can be wrong most of the time and still come out ahead.
Momentum trading pays when losers are cut at a fixed risk and a few winners are allowed to run. Asymmetry is built around that math. It looks for setups where the stop is close and the room above is large, then sizes every position so a loss costs exactly what you planned.
How a grade is built
Right market, right sector, right stock, right setup.
A grade only means something if it accounts for the tape. Each check runs in order, and a weak market caps the grade no matter how clean the chart looks.
Breadth sets the ceiling
Daily breadth readings place the market in one of four trade modes. The mode caps every grade and sets suggested position size.
Themes must be leading
Themes are ranked by relative strength and heat, so you can see which groups lead and which stocks inside them are catching up.
Enough range to pay
Trend template, relative strength and an ADR% gate. Stocks that move too little to reach 3R in a reasonable hold are capped at B+.
Tight risk, room above
Base depth, volume dry-up, higher lows, squeeze state and trend efficiency decide whether the entry offers a close stop.
| Mode | When | Grade cap | Position size |
|---|---|---|---|
| THRUST | Breadth thrust active | No cap | 100% |
| SWING | Bullish, no divergence | No cap | 75–100% |
| DAY_TRADE | Bullish with divergence, or weakening | A+ → A− | 50% |
| CAUTION | Bearish phase | A tier → B+ | 0–25% |
What it scans for
The setups momentum traders already trade.
Nightly scans across the US market, plus on-demand analysis of any ticker. Each setup type has its own rules and its own accuracy record.
Episodic pivots
10%+ · 2× vol- Gaps on a real catalyst with volume at least twice normal, flagged the day they happen.
Range expansion breakouts
base → break- Tight consolidations after a strong prior move, scored on base depth and proximity to the pivot.
Momentum bursts
3–5 day moves- Short, sharp expansions out of quiet ranges, graded for follow-through rather than one-day pops.
EMA squeezes
compression- Moving-average compression and volatility squeezes, with the direction of the fire tracked.
Market leaders
5-factor score- Price RS, trend template, asymmetric RS, accumulation and earnings, with lifecycle labels from emerging to fading.
Earnings and options context
EPS · OI · P/C- Earnings dates and surprises by sector, options open interest and put/call sentiment on the names you're watching.
Risk first
Size the position from the stop, not the conviction.
Asymmetry tracks portfolio heat, sector concentration and drawdown across every open position. Try the sizer: change any number and the targets update.
Signal tracking
Every signal is checked 20 trading days later.
A grade earns trust only by what follows it. Every signal is logged with its grade, price and market mode, then measured at fixed checkpoints, so you know which grades hold up and in which conditions.

Win rates by grade
See whether A+ actually beats B, and by how much, broken out by strategy and market mode.
Backtests on real signals
Replay past signals with your own grade filter, regime filter and exit rules, then read expectancy, profit factor and the equity curve.
Paper trade first
Take a signal in one click as a paper trade, sized by your risk settings and exited by the same rules you'd use live.
Who it's for
Built for traders who already speak the language.
Asymmetry doesn't teach trading. It assumes you know what ADR%, relative strength, a breadth thrust and an R-multiple are, and that you've traded more than one kind of setup with real money.
A good fit if you
- Have traded breakouts, pivots and pullbacks live, not only on paper
- Define risk before entry and think in R
- Adjust exposure when the market turns
- Want to know which of your setups actually work
Not a fit if you want
- Buy and sell alerts to copy without understanding them
- Promised returns or a trading course
- Long-term investing or dividend screens
- A tool that decides for you

Questions
Before you apply
Is Asymmetry a signal or alert service?
No. It's a research and risk platform. It finds and grades setups, shows the reasoning behind each grade and tracks how past signals performed. You decide what to trade.
Which markets does it cover?
US stocks, with options data for the tickers you analyze. Scans run every evening after the close, and single-stock analysis runs on demand.
Can it place trades for me?
The beta focuses on research, grading, position sizing and paper trading. You place live trades with your own broker.
How much will it cost?
Pricing isn't set yet. Beta members get early access, and the answers on the application help decide the price.
Why is access limited?
The platform uses trading vocabulary without explanation and expects you to judge its output. Small groups of experienced traders give the most useful feedback while it's in beta.
Are the grades proven?
Every signal's forward returns are tracked at 1, 3, 5, 10 and 20 days and broken out by grade, strategy and market mode. You see the record, including the grades that underperform.
